In The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, 42 is "The Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, The Universe, and Everything". In the Bible, there is a period of time called the "42 months" or 1260 days, because a prophetic month is 30 days, and 42 * 30 = 1260.

42 is a number often spoken of in the occult, and has very interesting properties. 42 and its code in the Bible show us many different concepts of Pi, such as digit scanning, self-locating numbers, circular numbers, and interconnecting correlations between Pi, Phi, and e. Aside from this, a major property of 42 is that it has a direct relation to 14159, the number of Pi.
