42 and its use in the Bible
We can learn from the use of the number 42 in the Bible.
The most important and last use of 42 is shown in Revelation 13:5, in which a period of 42 months is prophesied.
The Bible also makes use of the number 42 in other ways, such as how:
- The Israelites visited 42 stations, or locations following their exodus from Egypt
One of the other periods mentioned multiple times in Revelation is a period of 5 months of 150 days.
150 is a very important number, also used in Genesis:
- And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days
But what is 42? It is a number intrinsically relevant to Pi, in the context of its use in the Bible.
"42" first appears in Pi at the end of 93 digits and "93" first appears in Pi at the end of 15 digits
42 + 93 = 135, with Revelation 13:5 being a confirmation of 42's relevance to Pi.
150 is formed through using 42 + 93 + 15.
108 is a sacred number that exists in the Hindu Culture, as Hindu gods have 108 names. Also, their malas, (like rosaries) contain 108 beads.
This is because 93 + 15 = 108.
The Bible has an interesting planned alignment in its verse numbering:
Matthew, the first book of the NT starts out with a genealogy.
Abraham is the 1st of this, and the last is stated in this verse:
Matthew 1:17
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.
A total of 42 generations are stated, split up into 3 groups of 14.
Abraham is the 11th alphabetically listed root word of the New Testament, a contributing symbol:
253 42 117
The first occurrence of "11" or "117" in Pi is directly next to the first "42" as well.
The use of 42 in the Bible is directly related to Pi.
Psalm 117 is the middle chapter of the Bible and also the shortest chapter of the Bible to show the planned alignment of the middle chapter.
The book of the Bible with the most chapters is Psalms.
Psalms has 150 chapters.
With a little math we see 253 - 117 = 136. This is 14 less than 150.
Matthew 1:17 utilizes groups of 14 to help reinforce/show the importance of this number.
This is also why the number 'fourteen' is first used in the 342nd verse of the Bible:
Genesis 14:5 (KJV) — And in the fourteenth year came Chedorlaomer, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaims in Ashteroth Karnaim, and the Zuzims in Ham, and the Emims in Shaveh Kiriathaim,
Verse #342 (Ch. #14) — 19 words, 88 letters — Total = 7498
Just as
342 first appears in Pi at the end of 93 digits
42 also shows us Pi's connection to Phi:
- 136 first appears in Phi at the end of 253 digits, like so:
136 14
(this is the first `14` of Phi also)
---
As `14` is also the first two digits of Pi, we see that the second occurrence of 14 is in Pi like this:
14 8086
occurs in Pi at the end of 108 digits (93 + 15)
8086 + 42 = 8128, and 8128 first appears in Pi at the end of 150 digits (42 + 93 + 15)
Finally: 14 + 8086 = 8100
And as 42 first appears in Pi at the end of 93 digits, we see that:
- 4189 occurs at the end of 93 digits of Phi like this:
4189 3911
(4189 + 3911 = 8100)
With certainty, we can say that even numbers like 666 are used in the Bible because of Pi:
'440' represents a standard, as 440hz is a common widely used pitch standard in music.
Every digit of Pi before the first occurrence of 42
sums to 440.
- 666 first appears in Pi at the end of 2442 digits
Now, we see that 2442 + 440 = 2882. Finally:
8100 first appears in Pi at the end of 2882 digits
9 Symbolism
56 is related to 42 because it is 42 + 14 ... 42 is 6 * 7 and 56 is 8 * 7.
Genesis 3:16 has 8 and 7 words on either side of a word valuing 444, while Genesis 4:1 has 6 and 7 words on either side of a word valuing 440. These are the first two verses to contain a gematria value of 444 and 440, respectively.
Genesis 3:16 (KJV) — Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Verse #72 (Ch. #3) — 16 words, 63 letters — Total = 4246
[8 words (31 , 311 , 241 , 212 , 208 , 238 , 281 , 164)] — 444 — [7 words (102 , 37 , 331 , 1226 , 18 , 380 , 22)]
Nine verses later we are at verse #81, which is 9 * 9:
Genesis 4:1 (KJV) — And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD.
Verse #81 (Ch. #4) — 14 words, 49 letters — Total = 4834
[6 words (56 , 84 , 401 , 19 , 707 , 611)] — 440 — [7 words (401 , 160 , 647 , 570 , 311 , 401 , 26)]
81 * 3 = 243:
Genesis 10:8 (KJV) — And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
Verse #243 (Ch. #10) — 9 words, 31 letters — Total = 2075
The importance of 9 is shown by the fact that any multiple of 9, e.g. 99, always reduces to the number 9 again: 9 + 9 = 18, and 1 + 8 = 9. Any number that can be reduced to 9 is also a multiple of 9.
Any multiple of 3 can not be reduced to 3 again, but any number that can be reduced to 3 is a multiple of 3.
Note that we use '360' for degrees in a circle:
If you take any geometric shape, add the interior angles, and reduce by addition to a single digit you always end up with the number 9 in 3-d space
We see that 342 and 117 both reduce to 9. This is also the first instance of two 3-length strings (3 digits apart) reducing to 9.
Examples of this happening:
342 appears in Pi at the end of 93 digits
117 appears in Pi at the end of 96 digits
594 appears in Pi at the end of 145 digits
081 appears in Pi at the end of 148 digits
117 appears in Pi at the end of 156 digits
450 appears in Pi at the end of 159 digits
234 appears in Pi at the end of 262 digits
603 appears in Pi at the end of 265 digits
342 + 117 + 594 + 081 = 1134, which is first used as a word total in Matthew 27:40:
Matthew 27:40 (KJV) — And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
Verse #24170 (Ch. #956) — 22 words, 102 letters — Total = 12264
Important planning
The Gutenberg Bible has 42 lines of text on each page as a symbol to the importance of 42 in the Bible.
The Gutenberg Bible uses the "Royal" paper size in which a single untrimmed folio leaf measures 42 x 30 cm.
Most 15th century printing papers have a width to height ratio of 1:1.4 (e.g. 30:42 cm).
Revelation 13:5 states a period of 42 months (or 1260 days) as there are 30 days in a prophetic month. Notice that the first occurrence of 114 and 135 occur in Pi directly next to each other 114 135
.
The Qur'an is made of 114 chapters (Surahs) and has 30 parts (Juz').
This is significant, as 114 (the number of chapters in the Qur'an) in Pi connects us to 1189 (the number of chapters in the Bible):
- 114 first appears in Pi at the end of 2726 digits
- 2726 first appears in Pi at the end of 1390 digits
- 1390 first appears in Pi at the end of 1189 digits
